When we think about the last thing we have in our minds before sleeping, many of us remember Allah and recite Duas. In Islamic tradition, the act of praying is meant to be a time when a person can reflect on their day from the perspective of their connection.

Does your day encapsulate the kind of person you want to be? Did you accomplish all the things you wanted for yourself? It’s at this time of reflection that prayer can be done.

Dua Before Sleeping In English Translation:

Dua Before sleeping in english

“With Your name, my Lord, I lie down, and in Your name, I rise, so if You should take my soul then have mercy upon it, and if You should return my soul then protect it in the manner You do so with Your righteous servants.”

We recited this dua before sleeping to ask Allah for protection from Jahannam, which is why this dua has also been termed du’a ul nawm or du’a al-nueim. It’s a beautiful Dua that affirms the belief we Muslims have about life that only Allah can give us life, and he can also take it away when He Wills it. In this Dua, you tell Allah that if He takes your Nawayt (energy), he should hold you in high regard because you’re a believing Muslim.

It goes on to say that if I return my soul to Him, He should protect it as he would protect the entire Muslim Ummah (community). Reciting this dua will not only give you rewards on the Day of Reckoning, but it’ll also induce sleep into you.

.وَإِنْ أَمَتَّهَا فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا

Prayer for Good Health While Asleep in arabic

English Translation:

“O Allah, verily You have created my soul, and You shall take its life, to You belongs its life and death. If You should keep my soul alive, then protect it, and if You should take its life, then forgive it. O Allah, I ask You to grant me good health.”

This is a beautiful prayer reminding us of one simple fact: we have been created by ALLAH. ALLAH is the kindest and most merciful who, if he so desires, will take us back to himself after this short life on earth has ended. However, before that happens, there are things we need to do as Muslims to ensure that when death does come for us, it is with all our bases covered: forgiveness from Allah being number one among them! Reciting this prayer before going to sleep at night is just the way to end your day peacefully and allows you to release some stress which builds up during the day.

Sleep itself has been referred to as a mini death, and neither do we know if we will awaken on the morrow, so it is vital that we implore The Majestic One that He protects us from the punishment on that day. Do not forget to recite this dua before sleeping and also try to recite the names of ALLAH for Sawab and better protection from evil.
