Surah AL-Inshirah
There are several names for Surah Al-Inshirah, including Surah Al-Sharh and Surah Alam Nashrah. In the 30th Para of the noble Quran is the 94th Surah. There are only eight verses in this Surah, making it one of the shortest in the Quran. Al-Inshirah means “solace” or “comfort.” In Mecca, it was revealed after the revelation of surah al-Duha and it is a Makki Surah.
There are several potential benefits and spiritual healings contained in Surah Al-Inshirah. Surah AD-Duha is frequently paired with this Surah to maximize its effectiveness. This surah is beneficial for blind persons. It removes sorrow, the reciter will die as a martyr, faith in religion, physical benefits, and also increase memory.
English Translation
- Did We not expand for you, (O Muhammad), your breast?
- And We removed from you your burden
- Which had weighed upon your back
- And raised high for you your repute.
- For indeed, with hardship (will be) ease.
- Indeed, with hardship (will be) ease.
- So when you have finished (your duties), stand up (for worship).
- And to your, Lord, direct (your) longing.
Benefits of Surah Al-Inshirah
The recitation of Surah Al-Inshirah is beneficial as well as rewarding for its reciters. If you are reciting quran daily then must recite this chapter of the quran. Here are some benefits:
Beneficial for Blind Person
When a blind reciter, recites this surah he will be cured. As It has been reported from the Prophet.
Whoever recites in the Fajr Ash-Sharh (Surah 94) and Al-Feel (Surah 105) will never become blind. (Al Da’eefa 67)
Removes Sorrow
Those who recite Surah Al-Inshirah are like those who have met Prophet Muhammad and Allah will remove their sorrows and give them peace of mind if they are grieving.”
In a hadith, the Holy Prophet (S) said:
one who recites Surah Inshirah is similar to the one who has met Prophet Muhammad (S) and, if grieving, God would remove their sadness. Majma’ al-Bayan, vol. 10, p. 387.
Judgment Day Favour
During the Day of Judgment, the reciter’s body parts will testify in his favor if he recites Surah Al-Inshirah repeatedly day and night.
As Imam Sadiq (AS) says:
He who repeatedly recites Surah Inshirah during the day and night, all his body parts and the objects around him would testify in his favour on the Last Day. Thawab al-‘Amal, p. 123.
The Reciter Will Die as a Martyr
When a person recites Surah Inshirah day and night will die as a martyr. As It is narrated in a hadith from Imam Baqir (AS):
Who recites Surah Inshirah during day and night will die as a martyr and resurrect as a martyr, resembling someone fighting in the way of God with a sword along with the noble Prophet (SAWW).
Physical Benefits
A person who recites Surah Inshirah,
- The heart and chest pain will be relieved
- Health and certainty will be granted
- During sea travel, you will be protected
- Will have an easy childbirth.
- Moreover, reciting Surah Al-Inshirah is the spiritual cure for kidney disease. This Surah’s water removes kidney stones and blockages in the urine.
Faith in Religion
The Prophet of Allah (SAW) reported that:
Allah (SWT) also grants good fortune and faith in the religion to the reciter of Surah Al-Inshirah.
Wazifa for Memory Increase
The recitation of Surah Al-Inshirah also increases wealth. Reciting this Surah also improves memory and concentration, another significant benefit.
Imam Ahmad Rida Khan (May Allah bless him) said:
“To increase one’s memory, recite surah Al-Inshirah 17 times and blow into the water and drink that water.”
Facts About Surah Al-Inshirah
Inshirah, also called Alam Nashrah and al-Sharh, is the 94th Surah of the Quran. It contains eight verses and 27 words. It contains three parts:
- Mentioning three unique blessings granted to Muhammad (S), namely opening his breast, relieving his burdens, and exalting him;
- Letting him know that ease accompanies hardships;
- Encouraging him to pursue goals by ALLAH pleasure.

Anas Bin malik reported That
Gabriel came to the Messenger of Allah while he was playing with his playmates (in his childhood when he lived among Banu Sa’d).
He took hold of him and lay him prostrate on the ground and tore open his breast and took out the heart from it and then extracted a blood clot out of it and said:
“That was the part of Satan in thee. And then he washed it with the water of Zamzam in a golden basin, and then it was joined together and restored to its place. The boys came running to his mother, i. e. his nurse, and said: Verily Muhammad has been murdered. They all rushed toward him (and found him all right). His colour was changed, Anas said. I saw the marks of the needle on his breast.” Sahih Muslim 162
